The Second Book in the "Behind the Veil" Trilogy By Brenda Hain
BREE WAS HER NAME – she was a rare breed of brilliant red dragons. To carry on her species she had to mate. Soon...
Brox, Bree’s mate, had been taken from her five, seasons now. She mourned desperately his being gone so long.
Two things kept successful hatchings quite low in this breed. One was
the rarity of red male dragons, the second was red female dragons had a
high percentage of aborting eggs.
For the last three years, the wisest of healers, Fairies, Sorceresses
and Pixie dwarfs had attended to her grieving, one manifestation of
which included her not eating the special red crawfish and seafood mix,
which had kept her scales so bright and beautiful.
After Brox disappeared, three juvenile red males were found on an island
near what we would call Crete. Though all were out of the same female,
the different marking on each one suggested three different red male
dragons had fertilized each egg. Now, this was the norm during the onset
of war, to ensure that the species would survive. Bree had spurned them
all, for her there would ever only be one mate and that was her beloved
Brox.
Yet, there were no internal rumbling’s that a war was about to erupt. Not from the greatest Magic land gossips who were the Pixie dwarfs and the Fairies. Not even the wizards had a whiff of trouble and they were usually the first to sense any rumblings of ill will throughout the lands of Magic.
It was spring in this land and ALD was renewing itself at a feverish pace. As trees burst forth with new buds, even the smallest of animals became twitter-patted.
Infants from every living creature screamed as they took their first gasp of energy charged air. The Mer-helpers were rushing about making tiny seaweed cradles, ready for the arrival of the many Mer-babies that were due soon.
The only beings that had control over their reproductive cycles were the Wizards, Sorceresses and the odd mortal human that traveled thorough this strangely beautiful land. And of course the dreaded Mudlocks.
I wish you could see this beautiful land, as I perceived it.
Let me give you a view through my eyes. The grasses were so rich in color it almost hurt your eyes. The sun was warming without burning the flesh of naked beings who lived there and the only pollution was smoke from the fires lit by humans who’d stopped to camp while traveling through this strange world.
However, with beauty there comes the daunting upkeep of this world and the watchers over all inhabitants of ALD, the last remaining land, full of Magic, were getting very concerned over Bree’s grieving and refusal to take a new mate. Something would have to be done.
ALD was divided into three very different territories by natural
formations. There was the Steeple-doom mountain range to the west near
the veil portal, stretching northeast. To the east was the Dark-thorn
Forest which was haunted by evil, winged things. Lastly to the very
south was Moon-shot Sea, home to all water baring creatures. Wizards
lived throughout these territories, which were named Baldrak, Galdron,
and Valdrict. All the wizards had very different views in their
philosophies.
There were five main paths through the lands, three were natural
waterways. The freakiest river passage is the Sunburst, whose beauty
outshone its danger; another was Fires Ice Passage The last and probably
the most dangerous was Razors Cut Passage.
Each territory was spellbound, to keep travelers at bay.
Yes, something would have to be done to restore balance in the world of
ALD. Bree needed her mate back to reproduce and even though many
searches had been called, no-one had seen hide nor scale of Brox. Help
was needed. The elders of ALD held council, and a decision was made. Kazondos, a
wise old wizard, were to call on a very special family to help, to
assist Kazondos, himself devoted and sensitive to the memory of losing a
mate as he lost his during a past war. Kazondos therefore, called on a
human family and a reptilian family to join forces with him in the
search for Brox, to bring Brox back to Bree, to rejoin these two rare
red dragons; for as long as Father time would spare them.
“ Well! Guess who this human family of dragon seekers were?’” I ask you.
Let me clarify myself, I have introduced these two families in my
previous book [Lizzy’s Secret World] , where one human family and a
reptilian family are all uniquely merged together into one family unit.
This very special family consisted of wonder girl Lizzy, her rough tough
little sister Anna, their mother Shine and then the smart but brooding
Donald and finally and yet very importantly, the complaining Shain
Willow.
“ Where are the reptiles?” You ask. Read on, read on.
Kazondos the wise elder wizard now called upon this little group of humans to aid in
Lizzy was all gung–ho to be on a quest for a dragon. She loved dragons. All the others had reptilian DNA blended within them, with the exception of Donald and of course Lizzy herself who had chosen not to. Donald was the son of a very powerful Wizard and an Irish Pixie. Both parents were lost to this young rebellious Wizard while he lived in ALD, therefore he knew all too well that this escapade could be very dangerous.
Kazondos arranged to meet the group of noisily squabbling humans at the portal nearest the foothills of the Steeple-doom Mountains.
From behind the veil, with an elaborate gesture of his arms and with a shock of blue energy, Kazondos parted the veil to meet them and to gain entrance for this special family.
They greeted the Wizard warmly and with adoration. Lizzy just hauled
off and gave him a big sloppy kiss.
“I’ve missed you so much!’’ she squealed.
“And I you”, he replied.

YOU COULD SMELL THE freshness in the air, this Magical place was well kept.
Shadow felt the electricity in the air and asked if he could leave the humans
body. However, when Kazondos set him free from Shain’s human form, Shain’s bad
leg buckled and down he went, right on his sacroiliac.
Well! You should’ve heard the peels of laughter.
“Shain! I can walk better than you can.’’ Lizzy howled as she fell atop
of him.
“Oh my stars Shain! You were told to exercise that leg without Shadow’s
help.” Shine reprimanded him crossly.
“I did!’’ he protested loudly.
“Then get off your big butt and help Kazondos with our bags.’’ Shine
ordered.
“We won’t be taking all this stuff. Lordy! You humans carry many unneeded
things with you.’’ The Wizard barked as he looked at the mountain of luggage
they had brought.
He asked them to only pick some comfortable hiking clothes and leave the rest
behind.
Well let me tell you, Shain jumped to his one good leg shouting wildly at
Kazondos.
“Are you crazy? Hiking! Us?’’
"Oh my goodness Shain, want some cheese to go with that whine?” Shine
cried out.
“Well I thought we were going to be riding on dragons.’’ Shain continued his
self-pitying outburst while picking out some hiking gear.
“You know what thought did, Shain?’’* Lizzy chuckled, as she
finished packing her knapsack.
“Where is Shadow?” Shain grumbled. “He knows that I need him”
“SHAIN! Pick up a stick, lean on it, and start walking.’’ Kazondos
shouted. “I had forgotten just how irritating you human males could be.’’ The
Wizard muttered, under his breath.
The group walked many leagues over hill and dale talking back and forth to
each other.
All of a sudden Shain whined again.
‘‘ Yo Kazondos! Tell me once more; why we are here?’’
The Wizard now angry spun around, to berate this loud annoying man but took
pity, when his stare fell on this sad excuse of a human male, who was finding it
very hard, to keep up with the others, without Shadow’s strength. He saw Shain
take the walking stick and try to break it in two. He didn’t succeed so he
smashed it on the nearest rock. Satisfied he hopped along beside Donald.
Seeing all this happen within a blink of an eye, Kazondos sat down, and had a
hardy laugh.
“What’s so funny old man?” The disheveled Shain snapped. Turning to
Donald, he whispered this question.
“Donald do you still have enough power to pull that outrageous hat down
over his eyes?’’
“ YA! But he can and might turn me into a slog.’’ Donald stated.
A shadow fell upon them as a large arc form eclipsed the sun. It was indeed
Shadow returning.
“Where in the Lords’ name have you been?’’ Shain questioned indignantly.
After throwing Shain a numbing look, Shadow explained that he had been scouting
for the easiest route to get to Kazondos’ safe haven.
“Master Wizard, since when are the Harpies allowed out of Darkthorn
Forest, and during daylight. What’s up with that old friend?’’ Shadow inquired.
“Harpies? From Darkthorn Forest, it isn’t possible?” Kazondos argued with
himself.
“Okay! What is a Harpy and are they dangerous?’’ Shine asked.
“Well, that depends’’, Kazondos hedged a bit.
“On what, Papa Kaz?’’ Lizzy asked.
“I now regret calling you humans to regain Brox to Bree’s side”, the old
Wizard muttered, as he rubbed his chin.
“No grets!” Anna shouted.
“That’s right honey, no regrets Kazondos, we could’ve said no to this
quest.’’ Shine said with compassion.
“Okay! Enough kissing up, just tell us what Harpies are and how mean and
ruthless are they?’’ Shain asked.
“Let us make a rest stop at the next hilltop, then I’ll explain about the
Harpies.’’ Kazondos said sadly.
As the group ascended the next hill, many questions crawled forth in
everyone’s mind.
While Shine fed the children, Shadow hopped up on a rock and watched the
horizon.
“Are these creatures carnivores? And where is Darkthorn Forest?” Shain
asked.
Kazondos took Shain by the arm and sat him down amongst the tall grasses to rest
and hear about them.
“Harpies are winged, killing creatures. They kill for the sport of
watching the smaller animals die. They’re like the hyena’s of your world but
much bolder.’’
Donald joined the two males and told of how they kill every living thing in
sight, anything smaller than themselves. Leaving the stinking rotting flesh to
the scavengers.’’
“So what do we do about these deadly creatures?” Shain asked.
“Beats me! They’ve always been night creatures, but if Shadow has seen
them during the daylight hours, something is amiss in Darkthorn Forest”,
Kazondos said.
Shain repeated his question.
“We must fly, with great haste!’’ Shadow exclaimed.
“Is Peace Lily well enough to leave Shine’s body?’’ Kazondos looked to
Shadow, the stately dragon for an answer.
“Shall we try?’’ Shadow responded, starting down the hill.
Shine was having a sing-a-long with her two girls.
“Shine my dear, I need you out in the direct sunlight.’’ Kazondos yelled,
as he loped down the hill
“Why?’’ Shine asked a little stunned.
“Peace Lily how is your health?’’ Shadow asked in a dragon‘s voice.
“Excellent, thanks to Shine’s healthily eating and exercising”, Peace
Lily answered.
“Very good I need you to fly, my dear”, Kazondos stated.
“Are you out of your mind?’’ Shine asked the old man.
“Maybe, but we must fly.’’
“This could kill her, what are you thinking?’’ Shine pleaded.
“How were you two blended, by the blue flame?’’ Kazondos asked, as he
prepared a spot on the grass.
“Come-hither we must do this’’, Shadow pleaded with Shine.
“Shadow he’s going to harm your mate’’, Shine argued.
‘‘Kazondos would never harm a dragon’’, Shadow said, and hopped down to
join the group.
“The healers have remarked on my swift progress, let me try this Shine”,
Peace Lily begged from deep within Shine’s mind.
“Come and stand before me Shine, while I conjure up the dividing spell”,
Kazondos shouted, and stamped his foot.
Shine stood and admonished the Wizard. “Stop that, I’m not a child.”
Shine stepped into the blue flame with some hesitation. She had more trust in
the healers that had blended her with Peace Lily in the first place.
She yearned for the safety of the golden bubble. She had worked hard to help
Peace Lily heal.
As Peace Lily magically appeared before Shines eyes, she saw a stunningly
beautiful white Peace dragon, scales tipped with gold.
No longer did she show the ugly green scars from the fire sticks. There was only
one deep reddish scar that ran from her hip to her ankle.
Shine began to cry with relief and joy.
“Oh Peace, you’re so beautiful, and there’s no more green infection
oozing from those many slashes you had, when we were first joined.
I have you to thank for that, my loving Shine.’’ Peace Lily said as she gathered
the small human into her scaly arms.
Kazondos stood, arms folded across his chest, as he rolled his eyes at this show
of loving between the two females.
“Okay, okay! Shush up you two, we have to fly. Peace how strong do you
feel?’’ the Wizard asked.
“I feel as if I could fly to the nearest sandpit, and bathe in it.’’
Peace laughed.
“You just fly for me and I’ll give you a plasma shower later”, Kazondos
said, wringing his hands as he and Peace climbed the hill.
The Wizard could feel the rush of heated blood as he passed Shadow.
“Cool it big guy. You’ll have all night’’, Kazondos whispered looking
back at the anxious dragon.
“Ya right! With Tiger between us?’’ Shadow groaned.
“Alright Peace! Spread your wings and stay low”, Kazondos coaxed Peace
on.
Peace Lily stretched her large wings. Then with a hop she was airborne. She
stayed low pushing hard with her wings. Then she buzzed her mate and they both
soared high into the sky.
“Come here Anna, stand before me and I will release Tiger Lily.” Kazondos
commanded.
Well Anna put up a fight only a trained wrestler could handle. She bit, kicked,
and screamed, as loud as she could. Shain grabbed his little girl and stood in
front of Kazondos.
“Do it quickly Wizard”, Shain pleaded.
The Wizard waved his arms then shouted. “Two from one!”
As Tiger Lily slipped out of Anna’s tiny body, she turned and yelled at the
screaming child. “ Anna! Shut up!”
Everyone turned and stared at the small human. She was so taken aback by Tiger’s
tone that she stopped her bellowing and giggled, then Shadow and Peace Lily
glided to a perfect landing.
* "You know what thought did? He didn't do anything - he just thought he did."

ALL ATTENTION WAS NOW on Tiger Lily. She also flexed her wings and
legs.
“Daddy fly with me now”, Tiger cooed to the big dragon
“You can fly on your own”, Shadow shouted.
“She already resents the time, you’ll be spending with me’’, Peace Lily
whispered, as she put her head against her mate’s chest.
“But she’s just a baby.’’ Shadow reasoned.
“No, she is an adolescent dragon, just feeling the changes of her body’’,
Peace wept.
“Go on Tiger. Show us the finesse of your mother and the power of your
father’’, Kazondos ordered.
“Don’t worry, this jealousy will pass soon”, the wizard told Peace.
“Why does she distance me so?” Peace asked Shine.
“She doesn’t know you that’s all. Come walk with me’’, Shine spoke from
experience.
“I know you mean that I haven’t been in her life since she was a
hatchling. But she treats me as a parasite, worming my way into her
father’s heart”, Peace whimpered.
“Oh my dear sweet Peace Lily. Win her heart first and see what happens”,
Shine reassured the saddened dragon.
“She will not even let me tuck her in at night Shine, she hates my
presence, I think she wishes I had perished”, Peace wept.
”You must be firm with her, and tell Shadow to back off gradually”, Shine
stated firmly and grabbed the dragons arm.
“You gave her life don’t forget that.”
“Take her flying for starters. Go push Shadow away from her”, Shine
smiled.
“Take charge of your daughter Peace and do it quickly.”
Peace Lily winged her way very high into the sky and then called to
her daughter to join her.
“Daddy’s taking me, so you will not harm yourself’’, Tiger shouted.
“SHAGREE! Teigra vu hawl vouz azz op weir neu!’’ Peace
Lily yelled to Tiger Lily.
“Okay, you don’t have to scream at me’’, Tiger whined as she joined her
mother in the sky.
“Show me what you’ve been taught”, Peace commanded.
“Daddy just taught me to fly”, Tiger snarled
“Not even how to fly on your back?’’ Peace asked surprised.
“Can you do a roll for me?’’ She added.
“No! Why would I?’’ Tiger sassed her mother.
Peace flew above Tiger and very carefully lowered her large hind legs
so she could force Tiger to the ground.
Well! You should have heard the caterwauling from Tiger Lily. You had
thought she was being drawn and quartered.
“You will treat me with respect you spoiled little brat’’, Peace snarled.
“Oh ya! Treat the she-dragon that left me to freeze in a cave, high in
the mountains, with respect? It will never happen; while daddy is
alive’’, Tiger screamed at Peace Lily.
Anger pulsed through Peace’s mind and without a thought, she slapped
Tiger’s snout.
“Oh Lord! I did not mean to do that. Please forgive me’’, Peace cried.
“I wish you had died, then I’d be all alone with daddy’’, Tiger spat the
words like venom.
There it was. Tiger was jealous of her father’s love for his life long
mate.
“I am your mother and I will be treated as such”, Peace shouted.
“My real mother is dead, you’re just a specter of what my mother once
looked like. My mother was a Peace loving dragon’’, Tiger teared, as she
held her snout.
Now, it has been said, that it is only in fantasy lands that you can change the past to suit your present. Shadow, an over-protective father who had been a mighty warrior and Peace a newly parented dragon had raised Tiger Lily from hatchling.
Shadow’s mate was a one of a group of Peace dragons, distinguished by their gold tipped white scales. Peace had hatched a sweet little female dragon, which she had hidden away in a fiery cave high in the Steeple-doom Mountains. Tigers prowled the area in which little Lily was hidden, but the constant flames within the heart of the cave had kept them at bay.
After Peace had been ambushed and severely wounded by many Mudlocks
with firesticks, Tiger had been Peace’s driving force to get well and be
a family once more.
“Where did she go wrong?”
“What would she change if she could?”
“Will she have the fortitude to ask this great favor?”
“Yes! She had buckets of fortitude. Nevertheless, she did not understand
the ramifications of one minor addition or deletion.”
Moreover, for that she felt a sickening ache that pierced her loving
heart.
Then, she looked over to where Shain and Donald lay on the hill fighting
their own battles.
“Okay okay! I can understand you missing the flying but how can you miss
this constant fighting? Look me in the eye and tell me you miss being a
Wizard in this land?’’ Shain asked.
“That’s just stupid. How can you ask such stupid a question? Of course, I
miss being a Wizard’’, Donald snapped.
“Would you miss being a father to little Anna after having her for four
years?” Donald asked staring Shain in the eye.
“Humans are all idiots I swear. You take and use nature’s gifts and then
you dump the waste into the life giving water and air.”
“Why don’t you humans just blow yourselves up?” Donald stood, and shook
his head at the man, lying in the grass.
“IDIOTS, thru and thru.’’
“Kazondos, can I have my powers back if I become a healing Wizard?’’
Donald addressed the elder Wizard.
“Did you just have an epiphany?’’ Kazondos turned and looked stunned,
then asked.
“A what?’’ Donald questioned the old man.
“A healer needs many years of teaching after he or she is finished
learning the three R’s. Are you sure boy?’’ Kazondos queried the stunned
group.
“Who has touched this child? Show yourself now and be spared my wrath’’,
Kazondos shouted into the ethers.
“Wait! I accidentally overheard Donald. He is not bewitched; he means
what he has asked of you. If you grant him his powers, I’ll be his
tutor’’, Peace Lily offered.

SHADOW LOOKED TO PEACE Lily for an explanation, but she took Donald by the
hand and walked away from his gaze.
Tiger Lily was jumping all about him, as he watched Shain leaning up against a
tree rubbing his knee.
“What’s up Shain-man?’’ Shadow inquired.
“I do not know if I will be helpful on this journey with my bum knee.’’
Shain grumbled.
“Well, I‘m sure we all have a purpose for being here otherwise Kazondos
wouldn’t have brought us all to this place” Shadow reasoned.
“I’m not so sure, what can Anna do except slow us down?’’ Shain
questioned Shadow.
“You’d be surprised what a small body can do.” He replied.
“Ya, you’re right why drag a fifth wheel around on a hunt in a dangerous
land?’’ Shain added.
“Fifth wheel! Is that some screwy human term?’’ Shadow asked.
Shain laughed and took Shadow’s arm. “Yup another screwed up human word.’’
Suddenly, there was a loud clap of what sounded like thunder. However, it was
Kazondos summoning everyone’s attention.
“What a ham.’’ Shain muttered.
“He’s a wise old Wizard, don’t ya know!’’ The dragon snorted.
The group gathered around to listen for further instructions as to where to
go and about flying, but instead they received a most heartfelt lecture.
“I am hearing grumblings in this camp. I don’t like misunderstandings.
Never have. Therefore, shall we lay down the grievances here and now or shall I
send you all back through the veil and be done with you?”
Everyone looked at each other for some clue as to why he was so upset. A very
unnerving silence washed over the little hallow where the group stood.
“Okay then! Shall we meet at my abode, or do we go straight to Bree’s
island and be updated on what is happening.”
You’d have thought that a door had just been opened as everybody started
talking at once.
“ SHAGREE!’’ Kazondos exploded with frustration.
It was Shine who broke the forced silence.
“Just what does SHAGREE mean in English? Because if it’s what I think it
is, you can take that word, stuff it in your drog pipe and smoke it.’’
“Aha yes! Mother Shine is correct. Moreover, I apologize to you all for
my bad language. Am I forgiven Shine?” Kazondos asked with his hat in his hands
and head bowed.
“Yeah sure, I get bent out of shape when Shain takes a wrong road, so I
blow off. Just talk in dragon away from the young ‘uns.”
Shadow hopped over to where Kazondos was standing and spoke in English.
‘‘I propose that we vote on where we head to next or could we split up
and cover both bases?’’
‘‘Well, I vote that we all fly to the cabin, eat and have a good nights
sleep then start out fresh in the morning’’, Shain piped up.
‘‘Well, who died and left you in charge?’’ Donald argued.
‘‘It’s a suggestion Donald!’’ Shain snapped at his young ward.
‘‘Then I vote that we go to the islands and be updated. Then we can go
from there.’’ Donald added.
“Stop the bickering you two.” Kazondos shouted at the two humans.
‘‘All those in favor of going to the cabin, raise one hand please.’’
Kazondos sighed, getting tired of the human males.
He counted three hands. Shain, Anna and Tiger Lily wanted to go to the cabin and
rest. The old Wizard ran his hands over his face in disbelief.
Then Kazondos’ mind went as clear as crystal.
“Hear this idea my friends.” Kazondos shouted to the wandering band of
voyagers.
“What now, old friend?” Shadow inquired.
“Why don’t you fly these sleepy ones to my cabin, and then join us on the
island, where we will strategize.” Kazondos grinned with satisfaction.
“Oh yes! Papa Kaz, you’re so smart, Lizzy squealed. Come on you guys.
Lizzy sprinkled some magic dust on her head and shouted, “Fly me to Bree!”
When Peace Lily shot up and pulled Lizzy back to the ground she caught a
glimpse of a black form dragging another form along the ground.
She landed near Kazondos and spoke in a hushed tone.
“Wizard make us all invisible quickly.” Peace pleaded.
With a snap of his fingers, a dome was put over the small group, making all
invisible.
“What did you witness my dear?’’ Kazondos asked the dragon.
“I’m not sure but I saw one ugly winged creature dragging another along
on the ground.’’ Peace whispered to the old Wizard.
“My, my this keeps getting stranger by each hour, there is something
wrong in Raven-wood forest. We must fly to Bree with haste.” Kazondos stated
with a frown on his face.
‘‘Let us fly now.’’ Peace said grabbing Shine.
“Are you strong enough my dear Peace?’’ Kazondos inquired.
“I’m fine Kazondos, you’re an old worry wart”, Peace chuckled.
As shine was helped onto Peace Lily’s shoulders, Anna was put atop of the moody
Tiger Lily’s shoulders, and Shadow crouched down so Shain could climb on the
mighty dragon’s back.
Kazondos snapped his fingers, the dome evaporated and off the dragons flew, then
in a blink of a Wizard’s eye, Kazondos lifted off the grass with Lizzy and
Donald hanging onto his robe. He caught up with and then, surpassed the ominous
Shadow.
As Kazondos passed Shadow, Shain hollered to the Wizard.
‘‘Yo! Wizard, where are we headed?’’
“South to Moon-shot Sea, away from possible danger.’’ Kazondos shouted
back to Shadow as he pushed his weight high into the sky.
“Aw shoot Kazondos! I wanted to rest my leg.’’ Shain complained loudly.
“Shain stop the complaining we’re here to do a job, a very difficult job,
you may go without sleep many times during this quest.’’ Shadow roared and blew
flames in disgust.
All of a sudden, the Wizard hit a wall of electrified mist.
“Lordy, who put up this barrier and why?’’ Kazondos asked aloud.
He then made hand signals for the dragon flyers to land. As each dragon glided
to a short landing, puzzled questions came from everyone.
“Why are we stopping here?” Tiger Lily shouted to the Wizard.
“So we won’t injure ourselves, but if you wish to crack your head open
girl, fly on.” Peace snapped, angry at the sassy mouth on her daughter.
After a moment of uncontrolled chatter, Kazondos clapped his hands together,
making everyone stop asking the irritating questions.
“There has to be some kind of portal or at least a weak spot somewhere.”
Kazondos said as his hair was now standing on end as he probed the barrier.
“Can’t we dig a tunnel into the sand, and then crawl below this dumb
wall?” Donald quizzed Kazondos.
“Lordy! It’s sand my boy. But do, as you will, it will teach you a
lesson.” The Wizard chuckled as he slipped through a crack in the barrier.
He reappeared as Donald and Anna were digging a hole in the sand as a dog would.
“Come all of you, I’ve found a crack in this barrier.” Kazondos shouted
to the others. “You two can dig to China for all I care.”
“Aw heck Kazondos, Anna was just getting warmed up.” Donald laughed as
shook the sand from his clothes.
“Good Lord Donald, where are your brains today, I swear, you must’ve left
them at home.” Shain grumbled.
“Stop the bickering, you two and get in here, before this crack closes
completely.” Shadow roared at the tiny ones.
As the group slipped through the crack in the barrier, Kazondos shrouded each
member in silver mist. He then signaled to all to not make a sound.
Lizzy took Anna by the hand and put a mute spell over her sister.
Shine glowed with adoration, she had seen the two girls play together, but this
was a totally different situation. Lizzy was protecting her sister.
They made there way to the shore of Moon-shot Bay, here the group split in two.
The females were to hide in the small brush that lined the bay, while the males
went in search of Bree’s keep.
Glares of discontent started between mates.
“What are you males thinking with?” Peace Lily questioned the three
adults.
“Yes I think that we females will be received much easier than a hoard of
misery ridden males”, Shine whispered as she took Peace’s claw in hers.
“My stars! What was I thinking? My apologies to you two quick witted
ladies.” Kazondos stated, as he fell over his words.
“Ah, they know the barrier has been breached!” Donald said, pointing to
the lights over the water.
